The EMAN Science and Technology Cup 2020 Online Contest on Die & Mould Digital Design Skills of National vocational Colleges is hosted by China Die & Mould Industry Association (CDMIA) and undertaken by the Vocational Education Committee of CDMIA, Wuhan EMAN Technology Co., Ltd. is the title sponsor of the 2020 "EMAN Science and Technology Cup". After rigorous and standardized preparations before the contest, the online CAD/CAE/CAM contest of the student group stamping and drawing die & mould was carried out as planned on November 15. 278 participants started the digital design and manufacturing network synchronization contest in 24 examination rooms at the same time (every participating colleges have arranged computer laboratories as required). The contests were held continuously from 9:00 to 14:30 on November 15.
In order to ensure the fairness, justice and orderly progress of the contest, some members of the contest executive committee, expert group, and referee group will work in the contest implementation center; the center will be located in "Wuhan EMAN Technology Co., Ltd.".
The online contest was held from 9:00 to 9:30 through the "Tencent Meeting" online platform. Wang Cuifeng,The contest executive committee member, deputy secretary general of the Vocational Education Committee of CDMIA, Introduced the contest executive committee members participating the opening ceremony. At the meeting, Yi Ping, chairman/general manager of Wuhan EMAN Technology Co., Ltd.,represented the technical support enterprise of the contest, delivered the speech. Dai Yuwei, director of the Vocational Education Committee of CDMIA, also made the speech. Next, Qin Ke, the executive vice president and secretary-general of CDMIA, delivered a speech .Ms Qin affirmed the model of the online contest from the industry perspective, the significance and role of the content of the online contest in two aspects also gained her recognition. Shi Qingwei, the leader of the expert group of the contest, announced the precautions for the contest. On-site referee Song Bin took the oath on behalf of the referee group. Wang Haoyu, the student representative from Henan Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College, took the oath. In the end of meeting, Zhang Yingxi, secretary-general of the Vocational Education Committee of CDMIA announced the beginning of the contest.
The model of "Online Contest on Die & Mould Skills” created a precedent for digital manufacturing competitions.
The Online Contest on Die & Mould Skills of National Vocational Colleges(industry contest) is one of the main tasks of the Vocational Education Committee of the CDMIA. After being held for 9 consecutive times from 2011 to 2019, The contest has kept for on-site as the main component, Each school can only participate in one team per event. Participants are selected by each school and competed after intensive training, which is the "elite" project. Most students have no chance to participate. In addition, due to the conditions of the site, there are only about 100 participants in each event.
The Vocational Education Committee of the CDMIA initiated the "Online Contest on Die & Mould Digital Design Skills of National Vocational Colleges" in 2017. The computer laboratory of each school is set as the examination room, and the members of the contest referee team remotely monitor the condition of the examination room based in contest center.
All of students studying die & mould major are able to register for the Competition, which provides learners with equal rights to participate. All participants are distributed in 24 venues to participate at the same time ; It is the realization of "contest benefit universally ", promotes the full participation of the skills contest, and truly realizes the promotion of learning, teaching, reform, development, and promotion through the contest; it has become one of the important methods to lead and promote the construction of domestic die & mold specialty and cultivate talents with die & mould skills.
The focus on this year’s content of the cold stamping die contest has the digital characteristics of the entire industry process from design to manufacturing to forming verification.
The contest project of this year is "Stamping and Drawing Die CAD/CAE/CAM", which required two participants to completed: 1. CAE analysis of product formability Including the blank expanding, part formability analysis, and writing analysis reports based on the given parts; 2. Formulating a stamping process plan and conduct CAE simulation analysis and verification. Including the formulation of stamping process plans (such as blanking-drawing-trimming, etc.), application of CAE software for drawing and forming process simulation, evaluation and optimization of the design plan based on analysis results, and writing CAE analysis report; 3. Die & Mould structure design. Including the 3D assembly drawing design and 2D assembly drawing drawing of die & mould that completed the stamping process ; 4. Editing instructions that reflect the innovation of die & mold structure design; 5. Perform CAM programming of die & mould forming parts (generate tool path---generate processing instructions) , Make mechanical processing card. With intelligent design (CAD), digital verification (CAE) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) as the main heading, it has knowledge and technology and skill application type, which will certainly lead the talent training of industrial die & mould such as automobile and electronic die & mould.
CDMIA will insists on promoting the talent construction of China die & mould vocational education through competitions
In accordance with the reform pilot spirit of the “National Vocational Student Skills Competition”, CDMIA supports the "China Die & Mould Industry Association Vocational Education Committee" joint colleges and schools to apply for the 2021“National Vocational Student Skills Competition --- Die & Mould Competition (higher vocational) "Stamping Die Intelligent Design and Digital Verification and Manufacturing". Training technical talents who are urgently needed by enterprises through the hard work of the CDMIA on vocational education to lead the promotion of die & mould professional education and talent training. The content of this year’s cold stamping die online contest is also the exploration and improvement of the content applied for next year's national competition, which has practical significance.
As a historical event of Die & Mould History , the Online Contest on Digital Design Skills of National Vocational Colleges has been recorded in history. With the Internet era, CDMIA has adhered to the online Competition for several years. Our pace is keeping pace with the times. We have summed up a set of complete and feasible systemic norms and methods in terms of extensive participation and integrated teaching. “Vocational Education Die & Mold Professional Skills Contest Planning", the “standards of CDMIA” and the "Higher Vocational College Die & Mold Skills Contest Standards and Norms" will also be established and compiled, and will be published on the official websites of the Standardization Administration of the P.R.C. and the CDMIA at the same time, forming a standardized scientific model.
The DMC 2021 will be held at the same time with The 16th ISTMA World Conference in June next year. The Online Contest on Die & Mould Digital Design Skills of National Vocational Colleges will surely be the most fascinating and important topic for the talent construction of China die & mould industry.
