During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, China’s manufacturing sector is coming to a strategic threshold in the post-COVID era. The restructuring of global supply chain, the pressure from both upstream and downstream industrial chains, business competition, diversity of public resources, as well as domestic supply-demand dynamics present China’s die and mould industry with both challenges and opportunities. With recent acceleration of digitization and rising global demand, China’s die and mould enterprises demonstrate competitiveness with quality products and upgraded equipment, capacity of coordination across industries and reinforcing global influence.

In 2022, China’s die and mould industry output value reached 330 billion RMB, indicating stable industrial development. Supported by robust internal supply, self-sufficiency of the industry improved as the annual import value stood at 1.1 billion USD. In 2022, the annual export value reached 7.7 billion USD, with a surplus of over 6.6 billion USD. Export of China’s die and mould reached more than 200 countries and regions, demonstrating the industry’s global competitiveness and positive interplay between domestic and international economic flows. China’s die and mould industry supports the country’s manufacturing sector and plays a more important role in the world.

DMC 2022 has been postponed due to COVID-19. With over 30 years’ effort, as the leading platform for technology, trade and people-to-people exchange, DMC 2023 will take place at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 11 to 14 June, 2023. With the theme “Focusing on High-end Manufacturing to Promote Industrial Upgrading”, DMC 2023 will support die and mould industry in developing domestic and overseas markets. In the new era, diversified consumption and industrial chain integration have become the trend. Precision die and mould manufacturing, acceleration of digitization and technological coordination, enhanced supply chain capacity and application of new materials are the predominant features. Integration of industrial chains throughout the manufacturing sector has become the most important factor in achieving high-quality development. DMC 2023 will continue to facilitate trade and procurement, promote coordinated development of the manufacturing sector supported by die and mould industry, help establish industrial leading position, stabilize supply chain and improve the efficiency of industrial chain. DMC 2023 will strive to be the world-renowned professional and comprehensive exhibition for showcasing precision machining and die and mould manufacturing.

As the most important exhibition in Shanghai featuring manufacturing technology and equipment, DMC 2023 will showcase Lean Manufacturing Equipment, Automation and Smart Manufacturing Technology, and Integrated Forming and Precision Die and Mould Manufacturing, so as to create an inclusive platform promoting branding and procurement. The exhibition areas of innovative technologies that support aerospace industry, such as additive manufacturing, laser equipment, robot and automation will also continue to expand. DMC 2023 will keep leveraging resources of China’s die and mould industrial clusters to showcase the latest technologies and products, organize biannual Advanced Technology Award of Die and Mould promoting technological progress, as well as the Excellent Suppliers Award of Equipment, Software and Materials to promote design, structure, processing optimization and smart manufacturing. DMC 2023 will exhibit technologies and equipment that reduce costs while increase efficiency, help die and mould enterprises apply new technology and procure advanced equipment, as well as improve overall capacity of die and mould industry. DMC 2023 catalogue will provide visitors with business information of equipment and materials enterprises, to promote communication between equipment suppliers and die and mould manufacturers.

With Carbon Neutrality Expo, Green and Smart Auto Shanghai, Heat Treatment Expo and Hardware Show taking place concurrently at the same venue, DMC 2023 is the inclusive platform to share market insight in transport, environmental protection, carbon neutrality industries, and help strengthen New Energy Vehicle industrial chain by introducing energy & material saving innovation. China Die & Mould Industry Association will work together with China Aero-space Tooling Association to organize on-site events connecting exhibitors and trade visitors for further cooperation. DMC2023 will leverage resources of related industries to promote people-to-people exchange throughout the entire industrial chain, and help improve technological innovation and equipment capacity in die and mould and related industries.

We will set up exhibition area of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) at DMC 2023. The exhibition area will showcase equipment, metal powders, hardware and corollary equipment, laser surface processing, welding and restoration, software system, consumable materials, techniques, die and mould parts processing and related services of additive manufacturing technology. The exhibition area expects visitors from automotive, aerospace, machinery, consumer electronics, household appliances industries.

The Summit Forum on Additive Manufacturing Technology and Laser Manufacturing will be organized by China Die & Mould Industry Association and China Aero-space Tooling Association. The forum will focus on innovative application of additive manufacturing technology for customized and mass production in aerospace, transport, and die and mould industries. We will also organize experience sharing sessions on additive manufacturing equipment supporting strategic industries and promoting products upgrading.

Serving as a platform promoting exchanges on die and mould between China and the rest of the world， DMC 2023 will closely work with the International Special Tooling & Machining Association (ISTMA), Federation of Asian Die and Mould Association and its member associations. We will focus on new technologies application, organize procurement events on standard parts, analyze competitive edge of China’s die and mould and provide customized B2B matchmaking services.
